Barcelona is a leading hub for technology and innovation, and has a strong mobile app development ecosystem. However, this ecosystem is not fully connected, which is why Basetis has launched BcnKode, a meeting point for people interested in the mobile world.
What is BcnKode?
BcnKode is an open, collaborative community. The aim is to create a space where you can:
Each meetup features technical talks on mobile app development and the Kotlin language, followed by time for questions, discussion and, of course, networking.
- Learn about the latest technologies and best practices
- Share knowledge and real experiences
- Connect with other people interested in the mobile world
How can you take part?
Joining BcnKode is very simple and free.
1. Join the group: you will find it on Meetup, and anyone can join. That is where events are announced and registrations managed.
2. Sign up for the meetups: in-person places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you can’t make it, don’t worry: they also offer live streaming so you can follow the talk from wherever you like.
You can also sign up as a speaker! If you have a topic you want to talk about, or would like to help organise, get in touch with Basetis. The more people take part, the better!
Companies interested in hosting events or getting involved in other ways are also very welcome.
A successful start and a promising future
On 2 October they held the first meetup at the Basetis offices in La Pedrera, with the talk “KMP in production: lessons after 3 years using Kotlin Multiplatform”. It was a success: they shared lessons from 5 real projects and, afterwards, the conversation continued over pizza and networking.
And the next one is already scheduled!
- Topic: Compose Multiplatform: sharing the UI
- Date and time: 27 November at 18:30
- Venue: La Pedrera, Basetis offices
- Content: an introduction to this revolutionary technology, code examples and lessons learned from using it.
