A successful third edition of the App Trade Centre
The event hosted the launch of “Runtastic Moment”, an analogue watch that tracks physical activity
The App Trade Centre, the national app conference that has become a benchmark for the industry in Spain, closed on Thursday afternoon. This third edition ended with a round table moderated by Sixto Arias on the future of the mobile application development sector. Some of the sector's most prominent figures also took part in the debate, including Javier Clarke, head of Mobile & New Media at IAB; Julián Balerdi, director of diversification and mobility at the Editorial Prensa Ibérica group; Marta Dalmau, head of the ICT sector at ICEX; Emilio Avilés, CEO of SlashMobility and a member of Catalunya Apps; Pedro Diezma, CEO of Zerintia Technologies and José Luis Navarro, CEO of inMediaStudio.
The internet of things featured strongly in the debate, as did the future of mobile apps: Javier Clarke, head of the mobile area of the association representing the digital media advertising sector in Spain, stated that “apps are not going to disappear, in either the short or the long term”. In fact, the apps sector currently turns over more than 70 billion euros.
